Community Rock Wraps up for 2019

Well, we have wrapped up another year on the Corr Grain Community Rocks Tour Presented by Crescent Point. It is always a busy winter for us with all our bonspiels, but it is always so nice to be able to spend some time with the future generation of Saskatchewan and our great game.

For seven years now, Dallan, Steve, Colton, Matt, Dan, Kevin and I have put on this tour and we have made 27 stops and visited every corner of the province and met hundreds, if not thousands of kids! It is cool to look back and see how we have been able to give back to this game. Curling has meant the world to me, my family and teammates for most of our lives and we are lucky with this tour to spread even a small piece of that love and passion for the game to Saskatchewan’s next Brier and Scotties competitors.

This year we were able to visit three great communities, Kindersley, Watrous and Ituna. Every one of them did an amazing job hosting us and helping us organize the event (something we have come to expect in this amazing Curling world). The people that volunteer and work to grow our game are second to none and we are lucky to meet and surround ourselves with them all; thank you to the organizers!

It is exciting to see the young talent in these communities, but even more fulfilling is seeing the respect and kindness they show to one another and us when we arrive for the day. We would like to thank the kids for being great students!

We have the most amazing province, that supports Curling to no end and with that, we have the most amazing sponsors that support our team and this tour. We are so fortunate to have partners that believe in us, support us and back our initiatives. As we know, none of this would be possible without the unrelenting support of: Corr Grain, Crescent Point, Sask Canola, Calidon Leasing, Norstar Industries, Altas-Apex Roofing, Hardline Curling and Michel’s Industries. Thank you to each sponsor and employee of these great companies, it is a pleasure working with and for you and becoming friends over our long relationships.

We look forward to continuing the Community Rocks tour in the 2019-2020 season!

Until Next Year!
